Website Registration

In order to register a website you will first have to see if the domain name that you want is available. You can do that by visiting this website.

Once you are sure that your name is available, the easiest (and cheapest) way to register it is just to email me the name that you want and let me register it for you. That way I will be able to help you with any registration/renewal issues that may arise and the information will be easily accessable.

If (and only if) you have already registered your domain name somewhere else you will need to log into the site where you registered your site name and change the following information:

You may (or may not) have to wait up to several days for these changes to take effect. (it might also be instantaneous). this is dependent on the company you registered with, not me!

If I register the site for you, the nameservers are automatically taken care of with no delay.

Lastly, I will need to create a directory on the server where you can upload your website files and give you a password. Then you should be able to upload your files using FTP (click the FTP link on SpiritServer home page for instructions) and they should be immediately available (assuming nameservers are in order) on the internet. You should name your homepage index.html and name all your other pages with lowercase letters and no spaces.
